Fred & Barbie

Fred and Barbie have alzheimers. They are able to stay home because they have someone who comes in and cares for them.  We were given their names because of code compliance issues. 

 We found out from neighbors that they had been helping Fred and Barbie with their yard for years but the burden had just become overwhelming. Just before we visited one of the neighbors had hurt their back, another was struggling to care for their own yard because of age.

 Fred and Barbie are generous people and allow the neighborhood to eat from their orange tree whenever there is fruit on it. We spruced up their front and back yard as well as took care of the tree. It wasn’t getting any water. One of our volunteers got the needed parts to fix the watering system.

Later we were able to paint their house for them. We have lost track of them recently and can’t get in touch with the caregiver or Fred and Barbie so we don’t know their fate but we still pray for them.
