Nialia

Nialia is a single mom of 4. Her sister lives with her and helps take care of the youngest children. Nialia is a victim of Domestic violence and has a house in deep disrepair.

The family spends a lot of time outside since they hadn't had any air conditioning or a kitchen.

When we met her, Habitat for humanity was doing some emergency repairs to make the place livable. They converted her to electricity and plugged up some holes.

This sink was the newest improvement to her home. She had been doing dishes and using water from the tub down the hall for 4 years.

 There are many holes in the house where walls have been punched or not existent. This is one of those times that we would like to help more but we have limited funds or resources.

  A small group of college students adopted her and her children for Christmas. They brought food, clothing and gifts. Without their generosity the children would have only gotten an orange for Christmas.
