It was becoming a hazard because tweekers were moving in and much of this garbage could be lit to keep them warm. Tweekers do drugs in areas that are free from police interference and in abandoned lots.
Mobile homes usually have these pits for the wheels and trunks. It allows the home to sit on the ground. This is also where most of the hook ups are.
70 people of all ages got together to work on this property. They knew it was dangerous and that there were many hazards on this property but they were willing to do it. One of the miracles was that we had 25 people join us at the last minute to help.
Another miracle was that someone rented a bulldozer.
There were no injuries and we got the job done. We filled two large containers. Someone helped the aunt to get and pay for the second one.
Later I received a letter from the home owner. He thanked us for doing what he and his family couldn't do. He talked about how he was planning on going to church again because of our kindness.
What a difference. The extra people that came to visit needed to be fed because they were from out of town. Someone donated pizza for them.
A job well done.
